The launch of Tesla's electric semi-truck is one of the most awaited events of the year. Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, first introduced the designs for an electric semi-truck in a blog post back in July 2016. He had also announced that the vehicles will be launched in September this year. At the moment, Tesla shares have increased by 1.7% to $350.40. Analysts at Morgan Stanley predict that the new semi-truck will be priced at approximately $100,000 and the company will start taking in orders for manufacturing the vehicle as soon as the vehicle prototype is unveiled. Customers may even have to wait a long time before they can obtain the semi if the orders pile up as per predictions. This will create a drop in the sales of other truck manufacturers.
The Tesla semi-truck will ultimately set the pace for the competition for smart trucks.
The business involving the new semi is estimated to be a worth a whopping total of $5 billion.
